HELPING HEAL THE PLANET
- OUR COMMITMENT -
A passion of ours has always been nature and the environment, its spectacular diversity and complex interconnectedness, how majestic and amazing yet how fragile and consequently easily unbalanced it can become. Until recent revelations in the sciences, I think we all thought our collective impact could never influence our planet to the extent we are now coming to understand. I think we all agree our planet needs our help and we are at a point in human history that if nothing is done, it is an understatement to say that we and in particular our children, may face some challenging times ahead. The reality is, some of the damage is already irreversible, but we still have the opportunity to help those that are working on making the changes necessary to help reverse the damage to which we have all inadvertently contributed.

To honour this commitment of healing the planet, Kalamunda Roof Restorers has been a proud donator to several organisations since 2010, including:
AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY
AWC is the largest private owner of land for conservation in Australia, protecting endangered wildlife across more than 6.5 million hectares in iconic regions such as the Kimberley, Cape York, Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and the Top End. This is done by fencing parcels of ecologically important areas of land then eradicating feral predators such as foxes and cats within the reserve. Native animals are then re-introduced to repopulate the area and so far their work has been very successful, without which many of Australia’s native animals may have been lost forever. GREENPEACE Greenpeace is the leading independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future. 4 OCEAN A company founded by two surfers that saw how extensive the plastic pollution problem is in our oceans. They have since built a team of cleaners to remove plastic pollution from our oceans and coastlines and they work with local governments and their people to prevent further inflow of plastic into our oceans. |
RIC O'BARRY'S DOLPHIN PROJECT
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered for meat or sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity. PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world, with more than 6.5 million members and supporters. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement and protest campaigns. |
TRILLION TREES
Trillion Trees (Formerly known as Men of the Trees) was founded in 1979 have planted more than 15 million native trees and understory to improve biodiversity, combat salinity and soil erosion. They are proudly West Australian. WORLD WILDLIFE FUND AUSTRALIA WWF has been operating for over 50 years in over 100 countries on 6 continents with the help of 5 million supporters – their mission is to create a world where people live and prosper in harmony with nature. The work they have been doing is far too much to list here, so I recommend having a look at their website for more information. GREENING AUSTRALIA With their moto as “We believe people thrive when nature thrives” as their core belief, I needn’t say much more except since starting in 1982 they have had a monumental benefit to the Australian ecosystems most under threat, bringing many plants and animals back from the brink of extinction and restoring degraded landscapes back to healthy balanced systems. Their work is vital to the healing process and they are going to need a lot of help to reverse centuries of damage to our fragile country. |
We wish to thank you for supporting us, so in turn we can help these organisations.
