Frequently Asked Questions
Do you require a deposit?
Most jobs do not require a deposit. However, larger restoration and roof replacement jobs require a small deposit of 6.5%. The remaining balance is then invoiced once the job is complete and our client is happy. Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in? We specialise in all aspects of roofing, so we cover anything from a complex roof replacement to a simple tile exchange. We handle all gutter and roof plumbing work and provide a professional gutter cleaning service. Basically, anything that needs doing on the roof, we've got it covered. The skills we use to maintain and repair a roof (like pressure cleaning, zincalume sheet replacement, painting and sealing) have led to other work, such as shed wall and roof resheeting, driveway sealing and painting and even pressure cleaning a swimming pool. But most of the time you will find us working on the roof! What makes your pricing competitive? We always aim to provide a superior service at a competitive price. But we understand that price is just one factor to consider when you get a quote. Imagine you have two quotes for around the same price - how do you choose between them? What you need to consider is the integrity of the company, the quality of their work, the level of service you will receive and whether the tradesmen are competent, professional and punctual. Does the company provide a warranty, and more importantly, will the company still be around in a few years to honor the warranty? Be especially weary overly long warranties as they will most certainly be conditional so be sure to read the fine print. Kalamunda Roof Restorers is a family owned business that has stood the test of time (over 40 years in business). What makes our quotes competitive is more than just our reasonable pricing, it’s our reputation for providing superior service and outstanding customer care, backed by our 10 year workmanship and product guarantee. Remember, it is better to spend a little more that you had planned and end up with a great result than a little less than you should and end up disappointed. How soon can you have a look at my roof and when can you start work? The most common questions we are asked are “When can you come and have a look at our roof?” and “What is your schedule?” We always try to assess a roof and provide a quote as soon as possible, at a time that suits the client. Our schedule is usually fairly busy but we prioritise any urgent work, such as leak repairs. We aim to get the job done quickly, efficiently and professionally. Our work is very much dependent on the weather so at certain times of the year we always anticipate some delays. |
How do you normally charge for your service?
The services we provide are always quoted for and signed off by the client prior to commencement of the work. Once the job is complete and the customer is happy the customer is sent an invoice detailing the work completed with different options for payment and due date. On larger restorations and replacements, a 6.5% deposit is required and the remaining balance is invoiced for once the job is complete. Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work? Absolutely, all materials are guaranteed as per the manufacturer’s warranty, and all workmanship completed by Kalamunda Roof Restorers is guaranteed for 10 years. All our workmanship meets and exceeds Australian Standard Codes and we have no hesitation in guaranteeing our work. We have $20 million public liability insurance for peace of mind, and our employees are fully covered by workers compensation. These are all significant costs to the company but are of most importance. What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job? Our team has over 70 years’ combined experience in painting, restoration, tiling and maintenance. We understand roofs and the problems associated with them extremely well. It is very rare that we would come across a problem that we haven’t seen before or can’t solve. We love roofs and we love challenges. What do you like most about your job? "The best thing about this job is meeting new clients, providing as much information to educate them as possible, and seeing a client happy and satisfied with their new roof. Many of my clients are now my friends, and that is truly rewarding." (Anthony Tolomei) What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional? You should always ask about the company’s experience, whether they are fully insured, and whether you can see some of their work. At very least obtain a full written quote and ask whether they have any previous customers you can talk to regarding their work. Do you travel north and south of the river? We have completed restorations in Mandurah, Joondalup and as far east as Northam. We are currently in negotiations with a client on Christmas Island so, yes, we will travel anywhere required. |
How long does a restoration take?
Restorations are normally completed over a few days to a week, depending on weather conditions, size of the roof and client requirements. Do you work on residential or commercial buildings? Both! We can restore or repair a roof on any kind of building, no matter whether it is a home or a commercial building. The process is the same, just scaled up on larger buildings. I look after a number of rental properties, can your company help with leak repairs and regular roof maintenance? Yes, we can help in a few different ways. Firstly, you can call us if there is a problem such as a leak or damaged roof and we will prioritise this work to complete the repairs. Secondly, we can inspect your rental properties and provide a free report indicating whether any maintenance is required. Our service also includes annual or biannual scheduled maintenance and gutter cleaning which gives owners peace of mind their roof is well maintained and in good condition to prevent leaks. Additionally, we liaise directly with the tenants to organise inspections and work schedules which makes the process easy and streamlined for property managers. Finally, we can add value to your property by restoring the roof to make the house more attractive for rent or sale while protecting the structure below. We travel north, south and east of the river so we can service your properties regardless of location. Give us a call to find out more. |
